Working Dog

Winnie is on hiatus/vacation/retreat with my mom and dad in Buffalo, NY while I spend the next four weeks traveling like a maniac from NYC to San Fran to Boston to Pittsburgh. Occasionally, my mom will bring Winnie into work to let her run around and just be cute for everyone. I think that my mom and her friends just think of funny sh*t to do to Winnie that would be cute in pictures (as witnessed here with her on the phone!). Here's a link to a few pics that my mom sent me a while ago that just goes to show that Winnie is one drug busting, beer drinking, housekeeping puppy! Winnie at Work

Discovery Network >> Planet Earth

Discovery Networks unveils tonight their 11-part mini series, Planet Earth, with "Pole to Pole," an insightful look into life on planet Earth. The 9pm episode focuses on Mountains, and 10pm is Deep Ocean.

Filmed over the past 5 years in HD, this is one of those TV series that you would surely want to buy on DVD. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a hotel in Pittsburgh and do not have the luxury of watching it at home in HD. The imagery is absolutely fantastic, as the cameras capture wildlife in their natural habitat. I highly encourage everyone to check out the episode guide and watch this magnificent series!

Stuck In 'da Burgh

For those of you that haven't heard, I've been stuck in Pittsburgh since Friday due to the bad weather that the Northeast was socked with late last week. Needless to say, I am missing NYC terribly, but being in Pittsburgh isn't that bad. I've been able to get a ton of work done, and actually have face to face time in the office with my colleagues. I think that Winnie is slightly miffed at having to spend more quality time at the Hampton Inn in GreenTree (it's the closest hotel that allows dogs and I get loads of US Airways points).

On Sunday night I was able to meet up with my old Holly Hill neighbors, the Zurchers, for dinner at this fantastic authentic Mexican restaurant, El Campesino. They opened up one in the West Hills, much closer to their house, thus avoiding the bridges and tunnels driving up to the North Hills. Anyhoo...I took a pic of Mike and Tracy's two adorable boys; Zach and Gage. They're my boyfriends, and I'm their #1 girlfriend! :-) Great seeing you guys!

Central Park

A few Saturdays ago it was in the mid-50's in NYC. A friend and I headed uptown to just walk around. We walked thru the Met and then set out to see the Great Lawn and Jackie O Reservoir in Central Park.

Jumper

A few months ago I was walking home and noticed that my street (26th st) was blocked off with a huge crowd gathered around the police lines. I asked someone in the crowd what was up and he said that someone was threatening to jump off an apartment building, next to mine. It was complete madness. I had to walk back to Broadway, up to 27th, then down 6th to get back to 26th where they were letting residents into my apt building. I live on the 10th floor facing 26th street, and I opened up my window to try to get a peek on what was happening. I took the pic from my phone. The white box in the middle of the pic is the inflatable balloon that the police set up in case the dude jumped. My street was blocked off for hours...not sure what happened to him. I didn't recall seeing anything on the news.

Blog Post Day 1

Welcome to me...jumping on the blog bandwagon, late to the game, naturally. I'm going to try to keep this updated for my family and friends as I'm never in one place for more than a week. Between the traveling and work, I can never seem to keep in touch with the people that mean the most to me. So, I'm hoping that by having this blog, I'll be able to share pics, random thoughts, a few of my favorite things, and comments on work and life.

Check back!
